stay (zoom hours)

various drawings, 2020 – now

During the first lock down I started drawing during online meetings and classes. I realised it helps me to stay. To stay focussed, to stay in the moment or just to stay online. It helped me to understand and work through this new ways of being or not being together and reflecting on my own emotional states. A lot of the drawn motives focus on touch and emotional closeness most of the combined texts are quotations from zoom meetings which talk about the absurdity and enstrangement in online connections.

To see my collection of drawings gives me a better understanding of time and a feeling of productivity in times where it is difficult for me to create art. In my newer works I also draw pictures and quotes from magazines and newspapers questioning new forms of togetherness. Here’s a selection of some I want to share.
